BYU beat Stanford 27-3 in Provo, improving to 2-0 behind a dominant defense and steady play from true freshman QB Bear Bachmeier. The Cougars outrushed the Cardinal 157-19 and won turnovers 3-0. Kicker Will Ferrin hit four field goals, while Sione Moa and Bachmeier ran for scores. Stanford managed only 161 total yards and a late field goal.
